Friday Homework Edit: Children's Rooms

Happy Friday! This week the focus is on Children’s Rooms.

I remember when I had my son 10 years ago, it was really hard to find stylish and affordable furniture and accessories for children’s rooms. Now it’s never been better - there’s a great range both on the high street and from independent shops to kit out your little cherubs’ rooms! The trick with these rooms is to try and make them adaptable as they grow. Themed nurseries or bedrooms can easily date and they’ll soon want to add their ‘personal’ style whether you like it or not (Luc’s currently obsessed with sticking Spurs posters over ever inch of his walls!). I like to stick to neutral painted walls (greys, blues, greens, plaster pinks or white works well) and then add colour with accessories or wall murals.

Good storage is essential too - have you ever experienced the pain of stepping on Lego! At the end of the day you’ll just want to scoop up all their toys and shove them away. Baskets or metal crates are great for this and add texture and colour.

Picture rails are also great for leaning beautiful picture books against and they’ll be able to use these for years and change things around on them as they get older.

Hope you find some inspiration below and please get in touch if you need a helping hand styling your child’s room! Happy weekend :)
